U-PICK Berry Picking


U-PICK BLUEBERRY INFORMATION

Late June – Early August – U -Pick Blueberries (Please call for hours)

Blueberry picking season usually begins in late June to early August.

Upon arrival to blueberry pick please go to the Berry Booth to get our pints or buckets for picking, when you are done picking go back to the Blueberry Booth to have them weighed and paid for.

  • We have everything you need to pick, so you don’t need to bring baskets for picking
  • We ask that you refrain from eating in the field until you are done picking and your berries are paid for
  • Please only pick what you plan to purchase
  • Please keep children supervised at all times
  • No throwing fruit, sticks, rocks etc. on the property. If we see any of this going on we will ask you to leave the property
  • No running in the fields
  • Please watch your footing in any of our fields, there are rocks, sticks and uneven ground
  • Do not brake branches on our bushes, if the berries are ripe they come off very easily
  • We do not allow any picnic baskets or coolers in the picking fields
  • No pets, alcohol or smoking allowed anywhere on the property

Helpful Blueberry Picking info:

  • Select plump, firm, dark blueberries
  • Only solid blue berries are completely ripe
  • Green berries are not ripe and they will not ripen once picked

Blueberry facts:

  • Blueberries are easy to freeze. Wash, lay out on paper towels to dry, put in plastic freezer bags, get as much air out as possible and place in the freezer
  • Blueberries freeze well for up to six months
  • Blueberries are very high in antioxidants
  • Blueberries are an excellent source of Vitamin C and are high in manganese
  • Blueberries are also a good source of dietary fiber

Helpful Raspberry Picking info:

  • Select a bright red berry that is firm
  • Hold carefully between the thumb and forefinger and pull
  • If the raspberry is ripe it will pull off the plant easily
